Recently I stopped by a convenience store to pick up something. I’ve never been to this store and could see that they had a few parking spaces adjacent to the main road. The parking spaces were on a slight decline and I figured if I pulled in it would be impossible to back the truck out, I wouldn’t be able to see even with the back-up camera.
I look around and see no one is coming so I whip the truck across the main road and hurriedly back in so as to not block traffic. I put the truck in park, turn it off AND the next thing I know the trucking is rolling backwards. I hit the brakes but the truck is still rolling backwards. I PANIC as I see the store brick wall in my rearview mirror AND PUSH AS HARD AS I CAN on the brake pedal, damn near breaking it and my ankles but the truck will not stop rolling.
My heart is racing as I realize that even though the truck is in park and my feet are on the brakes I am about to plow into the store…until I realize the reason the truck is rolling backwards is because the CAR next to me is backing out. My brain perceived the car movement as if my truck was rolling. Yeah....smh
