Back in February I told you that my goal was to get to my “date” weight of 265 pounds which is what I weighed when I first met Andrea. Well I am proud to tell you that as of 4-23-18 I hit the mark. I weighed in and the scale didn’t read “OWWWW GET OFF ME”. It read 265. 3 pounds!!!! I am officially down 76 pounds. If you think about it that is an 11 year old kid in weight. Yeah that is a huge accomplishment and I am extremely proud of myself!!!!
Like I told you before it is not easy. Every day I get on my stepper and turn on Netflix. Right now I am maxing out at 140-150 minutes. My goal is to get to 180 minutes (three hours). Yup I know that is a lot of stepping but I am on a mission. I want to get under 200. I set a target of the beginning of the summer to get to 200 but I know that is not realistic. Instead I focus on 10 pounds at a time and smile when I see the weight drop off.
Andrea asked me to not become a stick man. She jokingly said, “Your belly is gone, no pillow. How much do you want to lose?” So here’s the deal everyone. Remember I told you about a family friend that was morbidly obese and died from a heart attack? Well that scared the shit out of me!! He was two years older than me. I have a lot of living to do. If that means I have to step 2-3 hours a day to maintain a decent weight and be around for my wife and daughter then I gotta do it. Don’t misunderstand me. Andrea is VERY supportive of my weight loss goal. She just wants to understand my motivation.
For the last couple of months Andrea has asked me to buy new clothes due to the weight loss. I keep telling her no. One day she says something along the lines of, “you are hiding the weight loss” which is very true. I am working on the big reveal or should I say the little reveal. LOL. I insist that I wouldn’t buy clothes until I hit the target of 265 and now it is time. What’s crazy is I have notched my belt so much that the holes are now going around my waist. Look at these pants. They are a size 50. SMH. New clothes are definitely needed.
Yesterday I was at the store getting some salad items when I saw Lee Haney. For those of you who don’t know, Lee Haney is an eight time winner of the Mr. Olympia title. He was The Rock (in physical form) BEFORE The Rock was. He is now a personal trainer and fitness guru. I’ve known Lee Haney since the early 90’s but it had been at least ten years since we last spoke in person. After I reintroduced myself he remembered me and we talked for a while. I then shared my weight loss achievement and he smiled from ear to ear. He asked me what I did and I told him BUT I also told him that I use the Lee Haney Detox which is something I never told ya’ll. The detox helps you rid the body of waste. He was so happy to hear how I had done it and asked me to write a testimony on his site. He said, “People need to know what you did so they can be motivated. Do you have any before pictures?” I smiled and said, “I am wearing my before clothes.” He looked and laughed, “Wow. I can see the loss.” I took a selfie with him so I could add the pic to this blog.
Folks it’s not easy but honestly nothing is. If it were we would all be the same weight. If it is something you want to achieve you have to believe in yourself. You have to have SUPPORTIVE Wives or Husbands and even children. Sydney will literally stop me in my tracks if she see’s something not approved for eating. “DADDY!!! NO!!!” That young woman makes me feel like a child sometimes but I love her for it. You will fall off and binge or eat wrong. Don’t beat yourself up too hard. Just acknowledge what you did and get back at it. Keep trudging away and the fat will go melt, one pound at a time. I promise.
